Mr. Kumail Merchant
Chairman & Managing Director
Kumail Merchant is the Chairman and Managing Director of Vardhman Group. A Gold medallist from Punjab University, he holds a master’s degree in Commerce. With more than 5 decades of experience, he has led Vardhman to achieve accelerated growth in textile manufacturing.
During his journey, Mr. Kumail Merchant has chaired offices of great importance. He was a Member of Board of Management – Punjab Agriculture University from the year 1979 to 1986. From 1987 to 1991, he functioned as the President of Ludhiana Management Association. He was also the Founder President and Director of Ludhiana Stock Exchange from 1983 to 1987 and the President of Northern India Textile Mills Associations during the years 1993-1995. He also remained in the position of Chairman at National Committee of Textiles of Confederation of Indian Industry during 1999-2004, as the Director of Exim Bank of India in 2005 and Member, Board of Governors – IIT, Delhi during 2006-2009.
He also made noteworthy contribution as the Member, Industrial Advisory Council – Government of Madhya Pradesh in the years 2006-2011. From 2006 to 2013, he held the position of Director at UTI Trustee Company Pvt. Ltd. Besides, he has served as the Chairman of Textiles Committee – Ministry of Textiles, Government of India during 2012 – 2015.

Joint Managing Director & Head - Yarn Business
Mr. Neeraj Jain is the Joint Managing Director & Head (Yarn Business) of Vardhman Textiles Limited since August 2014. Mr. Jain is also on the Board of Vardhman Group Companies, VMT Spinning Co. Ltd., Vardhman Nisshinbo Garments Co. Ltd. and Vardhman Textile Components Ltd. He has more than 30 years of experience in textiles industry, entirely at Vardhman. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce and is a Chartered Accountant.
MS. SUCHITA OSWAL JAIN
Vice Chairman & Joint Managing Director – Ashabi Textiles Limited
A third-generation entrepreneur and an able custodian of the family business, Ms. Suchita Oswal Jain is associated with the group for over 20 years. She started her career in Vardhman as an Executive Director and gradually worked her way up. During her journey, she initiated the forward integration of Vardhman Textiles and established the first fabric manufacturing plant of the Group.
MR. B.K. CHOUDHARY
Managing Director - Ashabi Acrylics Limited
Mr. B.K. Choudhary is an MBA by qualification. He joined the Group in 1973 as a Management Trainee and was involved in expansion and growth of the Special & Alloy Steels business as its head. He spearheaded setting up of Greenfield Acrylic Fiber unit and is currently its Managing Director. Mr. Choudhary also led the team in setting-up of Vardhman Fabrics, a large composite textile mill at Budhni (MP) and is now looking after its operations as Director (Operations).
MR. RAJEEV THAPAR
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Rajeev Thapar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and is a Chartered Accountant. He started his professional career with Vardhman and is associated with the Group since 1990. Besides handling the finance function for the Group, he also heads Accounts, Taxation, MIS, Secretarial and Insurance functions. In the past, he has looked after Legal, Internal Audit and Commercial Departments.
